FYI, re Caladesi Is, things may have changed since I was there (they
always change) but I recently heard that Caladesi Island is now joined
to the mainland, so the ferry is no longer necessary, though again I
was told the boat drops you at the better area for shelling (vs a long
walk from the mainland)....again, this may have changed since I had
the discussion with someone who lives near there several months ago.

either way it is a lovely beach, and the further you walk (or take the
boat) you will see less people. .
