Dear Susan,

There are some backpack and sling-pack camera bags that have a side zipper to remove your camera without opening the whole bag.
The ones that also have a waist strap as well as the shoulder straps will keep your camera and equipment behind you so it won't get wet.

You can go on line to B&H Photo and Adorama and look up backpacks and sling-packs, LowePro and Tamarac both have models that will work.
If you are located near a full service professional camera store, you can actually take your equipment and try it.

Best wishes,

Dennis Sargent

Subject: [CONCH-L] Camera rigging while shell hunting?

Does anyone know of a ready-made system of strapping that would allow me to carry my camera on my back, and yet enable me to easily pull it to the front when I want to use it?

When I am searching the intertidal zone, sometimes on my knees, having the camera around my neck means it hits the sand every so often, and gets in my way a lot.

I would be happy to hear ideas. Thanks.
