Dear Kay;-
You may be refering to the Creosote bush found in our Southwestern
deserts. I remember some article a long time ago that spoke of this bush
being part of a large circle, sometimes 30 yards across. Unless you look
closely, each bush looks independent---and that is the way many of them
grow. But it does seem that, left to their own devices, and given a
proper semi-arid region (no trailor parks) these plants can retain some
tenuous connection to the entire ring.
I'd like to hear more.
