Well, I'm not familiar with the genus Schizoid, but the prefix schiz-,
meaning split or divided, is used in quite a few scientific names . . .
depressus/depressa means low or flattened . . . and rectus/recta means
straight, so it isn't necessarily a blemish on the character of the
character who named it :-)
