Dears,
Shelagh M. Smith & David Heppell note in their "Checklist of British Marine
Mollusca", (1991) National Museum of Scotland Information Series No. 11,
three Sepia-species: Sepia elegans BLAINVILLE 1827, officinalis LINNAEUS
1758 and orbigniana FÉRUSSAC in ORBIGNY 1826.
Pay attention to the spelling "orbigiana". Smith and Heppell point out, that
the spelling "orbigyana" is based on an error and the so written name is
synonymous.
Best wishes,
Gert Lindner
