I still think most opercula look like nasty old fungal toenails.

On one of the early episodes of this season's "Survivor", the contestants
were forced to eat "bush tucker" including  raw mangrove whelks, opercula and
all...crunch, crunch, crunch.

Though I'd fill you all in as I know I'm the only one who watches this
stuff... and I never miss an episode.
