Dear Dan,
Despite the locality data of these shells make us thinking they are
mediterranean species, such taxa do not exist in mediterranean fauna,
neither as synonyms. I checked it on the latest checklist with synonyms
(Sabelli et al., 1990 - Annotated checklist of mediterranean marine mollusks).
If you wish and can make photographs of the specimens you can send them to
me by email and I'll tell you my opinion about their identity.
Paolo
