I just heard a radio program about the development of a desalinization plant
that would release concentrated brine into shallow Tampa Bay.
The program presented the controversy about the necessity and possible
effects of building the plant. It seems it's an expensive, possibly
unnecessary and harmful way to go. There's controversy about how easily the
brine will be dispersed and some types of organisms (especially echinoderms)
may be more sensitive to concentrated brine and lower oxygen levels.
Any insights about this, shellers?
