BLUF:  Agree with Travis -- people need to decide for themselves whether or
not to attend this auction.
 
Unfortunately, I won't be able to attend COA this year.  But if I were, I
think I might go to this much-maligned auction just to see what all the
fuss is about, perhaps to talk to the auctioneer and hear his viewpoint.
In the end, I might feel justified in sharing an opinion with him that the
auction was poorly timed.
 
However, I couldn't form any opinion at all without having done one
fundamental thing -- heard his side of story.  How can we judge this person
without consideration for his motives, background, and circumstances?
 
I hope that an effort to blacklist the Len Hill auction wasn't started by a
competing dealer at the COA bourse.  It's obvious who will benefit if there
is poor turnout at the Hill auction.
 
Go see for yourselves!  Then judge.
