I have 1st ed (04854-1460), copy 1705. I believe all these (ISBN
0-525-93269-0) had $50.00 on the top right of the dust jacket. I also think
all copies had a bookplate, signed by both authors. If you ordered
beforehand (there was a publisher's flyer for the work) you could also have
'Authographed to' with your name inserted. Otherwise, this was left blank.
Along with this edition and press, the book was published at the same time
by Clarke, Irwin & Co in Canada (this is mentioned in the front matter of
the Dutton edition).

Subject: Compendium of Seashells - Maroon Cover Question

Hello
For a paper I am writing I'm taking a survey about the
Compendium of Seashells with Maroon Covers

I am looking to see what is more common out there.
Your help is greatly appreciated.
Please e-mail your response back to me privately.

These questions only apply to the specific "1st" 1982 printing
as is labeled on the imprint page.
It is not applicable to the 1983 2nd printing.

Compendium of Seashells - Abbott & Dance
1982 1st Printing, 1st Edition EP Dutton

QUESTIONS:

1) Just inside the Dust Jacket,
    Is there a price of $50.00 ?

2) Just inside the Front Cover,
Is there an autographed and numbered book plate?

Many thanks
Leslie Allen Crnkovic
