It is said that one can only be certain of the data for shells one has
collected personally. Nevertheless, i have very good reason to believe
that a Conus vicweei i just recieved from a novice Indian supplier, came
from "near Pampoon, SE India". I attach a photo:

substantially different from the ones found in Thailand or the
Philippines - being dead collected the color is not reliable, and the
pattern is typical - and is a normal-sized 75mm. // I have not heard
of another specimen from India - might this be the first one?
