Hi,

This is just to let you know about a planned power outage at the University of Georgia that will
effect the availability of the list.

The University of Georgia is planning on installing a generator in their machine room to provide
power to critical systems in case of a power outage.  The installation will require turning off the
power to the machine room for several hours.

The scheduled downtime is from 5 PM Sat Jan 29th to approximately 10 AM Sun Jan 30th.
Services may be restored sooner or later depending on how everything goes.

Now for the fun part....

Athens Georgia is currently experiencing an ice storm.   How does this effect the planned power
outage you ask.  Well there are a number of things that could happen...

  Campus could loose power BEFORE the generator is installed.
  The contractors might not be able to get to Athens to do the work as planned.
  Campus could loose power during the generator installation.
  Campus could loose power after the generator installation but before we can restart the systems.

Anyway you get the idea...

Bottom line is if you have a problem posting to the list this weekend, try again on Monday,
everything should be working by then :)
