Hello Olivier, Rick Harbo in Shells & Shellfish of the Pacific Northwest
lists the distribution from 57 degrees to 24 degrees North (NE Bering Sea,
Alaska south to Punta San Pablo, Baja California and in the Gulf of
California). It's very common in Puget Sound. I hope that helps. Bert
Bartleson, Olympia, WA

Subject: acila castrensis

Hello the List

I see Acila castrensis (Hinds, 1843, Nuculidae) is found off Eureka,
California, goes north to Washington state, with some records in British
Columbia, less or more between Prince Rupert and Ocean falls. I suppose this
shell is fished in more northern waters (museum of the North, University of
Alaska) but stay unable to get a confirmation.
Any idea of the range of this species? Bering, Aleutian, S. Alaska... or is
BC the limit ?

Regards

Olivier Caro
