The prohibition against collecting marine shells anywhere in Costa Rica is
rather strict. Any shells found in luggage during departure (all luggage is
inspected) will be confiscated.

Subject: Collecting in Golfito, Costa Rica
Greetings,
I am leaving in 12 days for a trip to Golfito, Costa Rica. I will have a
boat and dive gear while there, but I will unfortunately only have a day
or two to field collect marine gastropods. Can anyone recommend
particularly productive or interesting collecting sites near Golfito? I am
a general collector, but I tend to focus on cones, cowries and conchs.
Thanks,
John Flynn
