SCUM X Second announcement

SCUM X January 21 2006
Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History

The tenth meeting of the Southern California Unified Malacologists
(SCUM) will take place on January 21st 2006 at the Santa Barbara Museum
of Natural History. SCUM is a loose association of mollusks workers and
enthusiasts in Southern California. SCUM meets annually for an informal
information exchange and updates on current work in the region.
Everybody is welcome to attend. For planning purposes, please let me
know if you intend to participate. The third and last circular will be
sent out in early January, 2006.

Location and duration
The meeting will take place in Farrand Hall at SBMNH, and commence at
10AM. The museum is located at 2259 Puesta del Sol Road, Santa Barbara,
CA 93105. For directions, please consult mapquest. Ample free parking is
available in the adjacent parking lot. Coffee, tea, and some pastries
will be provided in the morning. A sandwich lunch will be organized. As
in previous years, it is expected that the meeting will adjourn in the
early to mid afternoon. A tour of the facilities including wet and dry
collections, molecular lab, SEM, and histology will be carried out for
interested parties.

Presentations
Presentations may include informal communications as well as Powerpoint
presentations. Formats other than PP (OHP, slides) are discouraged, and
will have to be arranged well in advance. PP presenters: contact me if
you plan on doing a presentation with approximate duration, and bring
your files on a CD-ROM.

See you all there. Best wishes

Daniel
