Hi Winston,

I encountered the same phenomenon while I was in Mexico a few months ago.  All
the live Vasum I found were positioned aperture up with operculum exposed.
They seemed alive and well, so I kindly returned them to thier original state.

Why this position? Do they want to get a tan? :)
