Dear List,

There's an excellent presentation on the National Geographic website on the global fishing crisis and the involvement of human populations.

If you go to the link:

Then click on the place that says Sights & Sounds for the presentation to come up. It has some stunning photography. And to make it shell-related, there's a cameo appearance of some bivalves destined for the market.
