Phil, another thing to look into is the ability to automatically collect and
store data points so as to record a trip.  A friend of mine recently hiked
Mt. Everest and the area, and was able to set his GPS to collect a data
point every 15 minutes or 100 meters in travel.  Later he could upload the
stored data into Google Earth and map the journey (even in 3D).  Pretty
cool.
