I was having some problems getting my browser to work, had email but no web
browser. Anyway, all seems back in order. The shell in question does
indeed appear to be Vittina coromandeliana (G.B. Sowerby I, 1836). This
species is quite widespread with a range of southern Japan, through the
Philippines, and Indonesia, to northern Australia, and west to India. There
are several Pacific (and one Atlantic) freshwater nerites that are similar
in appearance, but your shell is a very typical V. coromandeliana.
