NatureListers (& malacologists),

It looks as if plans are shaping up. Our slug specialist, Ulrich
Schneppat will be flying in from Switzerland on 22 September. We
will take him around to some Ontario and Quebec localities to explore
for slugs for the first part of his visit.

He will give a beginners workshop on slug biology and identification
for the Macoun Club at Fletcher Wildlife Garden in Ottawa on
Saturday, 26 September.

Ulrich is a very entertaining speaker, engaging the interest of all
ages and experience. It may be possible to book a presentation,
seminar, or workshop for groups or individuals at other times during
his visit, so let me know if you or your group are interested.

As you will read below, Don McAlpine of the New Brunswick Museum
plans to be here from September 27 to October 2, during which time
Ulrich will be available to demonstrate advanced slug identification
and dissection.

Please let me know whether you are able to come to Bishops Mills at
any time from Monday, 28 September, to Thursday, 1 October, with or
without live slugs for identification.

PS: As yet we have no sponsor to fund this important opportunity to
make contact with European expertise on our understudied and mostly
introduced slug fauna. BMNHC will accept donations to cover expenses.
