Harry,

A digital B&W version of Rumphius, the original Dutch version (1705) as
well as the Latin version (1711), is available on Animalbase:

http://www.animalbase.org/

Go to "Digitized literature" and "All publications alphabetically".

Kind regards,

Arnold

Dear Luigi,

Since 1967 (see Kohn, 1992), the species is indicated by the lectotype
figure in Rumphius (1705: pl. 34, fig. G; see Beekman, 1999: 155)). When
the species was described (Linnaeus, 1758: 714; no. 260), the author did
not possess a specimen although he later labelled one in the Louisa
Ulrica Collection (Linnaeus, 1764: 554, no 159).

Harry

PS: Does anyone know if a digital version of Rumphius is available
on-line? HGL
