The species is now in the genus Linisa and southern Texas is the center of
its range. It is uncommon but not rare and is widespread in southern Texas
extending sporadically northward into Oklahoma, extreme southern Kansas and
eastward into Arkansas, Louisiana, western Mississippi, and western Georgia;
and west to New Mexico (Hubricht, 1985).  Missouri reports are likely in
error.

I have acquired an old shell collection and books.  Mostly Hawaiian but
some worldwide stuff.  There are some lists of shells dated 1924 from a
Mr. George Unmact that lists this land shell as being very rare.
Collected by a Mr. Hand at "Hyde Park High".  Do any of you recognize
