A Cypraea ostergaardi in the ANSP collection is about 11 mm (I can't find my
calipers to give an exact measurement). Lorenz & Hubert list the size range
of Cypraea ostergaardi as 10 to 24 mm. The recently published books on
cowries, cones, volutes, slit shells are a much better guide to record sizes
in those groups than the "Registry of World Record Size Shells," which lists
only items directly reported to the compilers.
