I lost one package in 20 years.  I sent it to spain.  After 6 months of
tracking they found that it never left New York City.  They won't track
it if you don't have a return receipt.  I send almost everything A-O
small packet, registered and return receipt.  I put a value of 33.00
because that is all you can claim on small packet.  Mark gift and the
usually specimen stuff.  Bob
