Hi James, I looked at Myra Keen's list of place names.  She lists Bahia de
Los Angeles but not in Jalisco.  It's on the east Coast of Baja California
at location 23 [about half way down], page 923.  I have had lots of similar
problems with older place names from Mexico on shells collected in the
1960's and 1970's. Good luck!  No listing for Saladita Bay near Guaymas in
Keen.  You might try a Google Earth place name search?  Bert

I just received a bunch of shells from an old collection, and there
are a couple of localities that I haven't been able to verify:

Bahia de Los Angeles, Jalisco, Mexico

Saladita Bay, Guaymas, Mexico

There are many hits for the latter locality in the ANSP collection
search, but only one for the former (there are 7 hits if I enter Los
Angeles Bay).

Either I haven't searched hard enough, or somebody made some
geographic errors! Any ideas?
