Hello Hi Jing,

 I have never tried eating slugs. Too much slime for me. However they have
a potential risk for causing infection with the rat lung worm
[Angiostrongylus cantonensis]. The name suggests this may be present in
China. Cases that I have read about were from Thailand in a raw slug dish
called "koi-hoi" and in Hawaii, USA from lettuce containing tiny live slugs
and from Australia from a man who ate two slugs on a dare and ended up
hospitalized for a month. So the public health message is "wash your
lettuce" and "don't eat raw slugs, cook them!" The reference I have is from
the New York Times titled "Australia: Man's Serious Illness Shows the Danger
of Daring to Eat a Garden-Variety Slug." {
http:www.nytimes.com/2011/10/18/health/18global.html?_1&ref=todayspaper}  I
hope that's of use to you.
