Hi, Geoff, I finally am able to get these photos for you to view. I have six shells on this link, but only two are Urocopts. I'm also CCing Conch-L list to ask their help identifying any that they can. Here's the link to view the shells. By the way, all shells were found before 1964. Photos are all by Soon Flynn, a grad student at Az State U. Just click on the photo to enlarge.

Shell 1 is a Urocopt 19-21.5 mm high by 3.5-4mm wide. 11 whorls on all but the shortest one. Similar markings & color to U. amethystina Chitty, but my shells are not as broad, and have more whorls. Also, the peristome on my shells is totally separate from the body whorl, whereas it attaches at the top to the body whorl on U. amethystina. Locale was noted as Las Canteras, Isla de Pinos, Cuba.

Shell 2 is very tiny Urocopts, 12-13 mm high. The shells are almost transparent. They have about 20 whorls and do not drop the nuclear whorls. Locale was noted as Rangel, Pinar del Rio, Cuba.

Shell 3 I believe is an Eutrochatella, but I can't find a photo in Abbott's "Compendium of Landsnails", or online. A scrap of paper included with it gave a location of Muila de la Vieja, C. del Norte, Cuba.

Shell 4 had a scrap of paper identifying it as "Microceramus? Cuba." I'm not sure it is a Microceramus. It has varices at previous growth stops, and the peristome is slightly flared.

Shell 5 I have no clue to its' ID or where it was found. It is one of many in the collection I'm working with that has absolutely nothing to go on. It is about 1 -1.25 inches high.

Shell 6 is an Oleacine. But is it just a malformed Laevoleacina oleacina, or is it a distinct species? It was loose in a box of O. oleacinas from Vinales, del Rio, Cuba. There were also papers loose in the collection noting locales of Cafetal Penetencia, Vinales, and Penitencia, Vinales (Cuba). This baby is about 1.2 inch long -slightly longer than the other Oleacinas. My other Oleacinas have smooth sutures, but the sutures on this shell are stepped.

I hope someone can help identify these shells.

Thanks,
Dale Snyder
