Good point,  the  intact-ness of the  protoconch is again an  issue. I
think several of us have submitted our best  northern specimens to
Marlo ;  none of mine turned out to  have intact protoconchs. I don't
know of any specimens locally  that were other than beach shells, if
anybody has any northern  live taken  or very fresh beach shells,
those would indeed be better  prospects.
