I bought a small Abalone (about 2" long) in a gift/shell shop in Oregon
that was called a "Pulcharis Abalone". I haven't been able to figure out
what the species is and I have no idea where it is from. It has a
greenish exterior and a pale iridescent interior. Can anyone help? I
would assume that it would be a mature abalone, but who knows. I would
hope a seller would always sell mature shells, but is there any way to
tell if an abalone is full size or not.
