No, macrodon is Cymatium ((Monoplex) macrodon Valenciennes, 1832. And as
far as I know it is limited to the Panamanic Province. There was a Genus
Mayena Iredale, 1917 but it was put in synonymy with the Genus Ranella
Lamarck, 18l6 in a paper written by Alan Beu in 1976
I still think the best guess is Malea in the Tonnidae. Paul, how about
telling us what it looks like and where it was found.
