Hello,
  When I was planning my trip to Belize last fall someone had suggested
garlic. The other product that was suggested was something called intropel or
something like that(available at eastern mountain sports)  which is a lotion,
deet free! Sorry I don't have the name, packed it off with my daughter to the
wilds of MA. It seemed to work pretty well in Belize, especially in the
jungle.
