Hi,

Speaking of Oliva porphyria's increasing scarcity: I have a 99mm
perfect gem (beautiful!) that I bought from a friend for $10
about 10 years ago. Does anyone know what the value of such a
shell is now? Just wondering.

Other shells I have that have changed drastically in value:
my 130mm Cypraea cervus that I paid $10 US for 15 years ago,
a 215mm Cumbiola imperialis and a 270mm Charonia tritonis that
I paid $18 each for 20 years ago. My, how things change!

Another question I was just discussing with Ross: why is Conus
zonatus so seldom seen for sale? As far as I know it is not
a rare shell by any means. Is it due to the roughness of most
specimens, or is this shell really getting difficult to find?
