You may be interested that the Guide to the Land Snails of Bali by Jaap
Vermeulen and myself has been published by Backhuys, PO Box 321, 2300 AH
Leiden, Netherlands, tel. +31-71-5170208, price Dfl.60.-. It is the first in
the new Fauna Malesiana Series.

There is an introduction to the island (vegetation, ecology, forest loss,
biogeography etc.), a section on snail studies, collecting and storage, a key
to families and genera, the species descriptions, a bibliography (for Bali and
surrounding islands), a checklist and a section on taxonomy. It is 165 pp, 130
figs., covers 116 species (including the ellobiids) and each is illustrated by
one of Jaap's exquisite drawings.
