We know nothing about anyone ever getting hurt by a load of scallops.
Although that was a big concern of the big equipment drivers and one
reason we were not allowed again.

The area that was the "beloved" scallop dump is all paved over and is
now parking for the many cruise ships that come into Port Canaveral.

Unfortunately, the scallop industry is just about closed too...because
they have scraped the bottom clean.

We were good friends of your Aunt Gloria...belong to the Astronaut Trail
Shell Club. We used to actually go out there almost every night. Will
never forget that smell. Our old car was sold (I am sure) with that
smell still clinging to the seats and headliner.

What a good time that was. We really miss it.
