Hello,
I've just joined this list. I am a writer researching a book, and for that
purpose I'm trying to discover what types of seashells are typically found
on the coast of Normandy, in particular the beach at Berck-sur-Mer
(Berck-Plage). In particular, I have descriptions of two such shells and
wonder what they might be:

1. "little, white funnel-shaped", conical, about 1-2 inches across

2. "a million tiny shells, orange-pink and delicate, like lacquered
 fingernails"

I'd be grateful for any guidance anyone might have about what these shells
might be, as well as any information on other shells typical to that
geographical area.

Thanks very much, and looking forward to replies,
Kate Moses
