What I like to do for my shells to protect them, is I tie a string to them,
and lower them into a bucket of varnish, slowly pull them out, and let them
dry. After you do this 4 or 5 times per shell, they have these really cool
hardened varnish stringies hanging from them. Plus, varnish yellows over
time, and it's neat to have shells change color on you.

Seriously, does anyone know of a good fossil shell website?
