Strangely, I have had several people wish me a "Happy Holiday" or
"Happy Memorial Day". Unless I am way off base, this particular
holiday is not supposed to have the word "Happy" attached to it.
Memorial is to remember, to contemplate, to say names not often said.
I guess I am a little sorry for those who think of it as another day
off. If we can steal a phrase out of context from Mr. Lincoln: "----
the world will little note nor long remember----". And, sadly, it may
be true.
