Dear Pecten lovers,
 
 
the gabonensis exists, I've seen a couple of these and one is figured in
the book from Bernard.
They have been found again two years ago, I presume on Ascension island.
The first impression is a quite normal nodosus, but very constant in shape
and size and colour. The one from Bernard exactly matches the one's I've
seen. May be it is another species, (than nodosus), but I did not study or
compare the shells closely.
