Incidentally, the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature is written
in both French and English, with pages in French on the left side and pages
in English on the right. A German edition is also available, though I do
not have further information on it. The English and French versions are the
authoritative ones.
 
At present, separate Codes exist for plants (together with algae and
fungi), animals, bacteria, and viruses. But a movement is afoot to combine
all these Codes into one BioCode, whose text can be read on the Biosis
website. If memory serves, the BioCode would apply mainly to taxa named
after its starting date. This is a laudable goal and will be of particular
service in computerized databases, but I'm not holding my breath until it
is ratified by botanists, zoologists, and bacteriologists.
