David & others,
What I would normally do is use old tights for collecting micro's. They are so fine mased that you do not loose any micro's. When I see an interesting spot with shell grit, I fill the tight with the grit and close it by making a knot in it. When I am back on land, I rinse it with fresh water several times, label it and store it for drying. Due to the fine mases, you are sure not to loose any micro's in the cleaning process. When I have time, I go through it, bag by bag, looking or some great discoveries.
Greetings

Subject: micro collecting in Scuba

Scuba-ers,

I'm finishing my course for open water.

I know I'll need a collecting bag, but what do micro collectors do? Carry a
small sieve, small zip-locks, and small mesh bag?

Habitat data written on slate?
