Margarita cidaris was published by Carpenter in 1864 but
the description was by A. Adams so the correct quotation is
Magarita cidaris A. Adams in Carpenter, 1964.
The article was:
Supplementry Report on the present state of our knowledge
with regard to the Mollusca of the West coast of North America.
Report of the British Ass. for the Advancement of Science
for 1863, pp. 623
With regards

Riccardo Giannuzzi-Savelli

>I've been working on re-labeling some of my older shells. I have a

>labeled as Cidarina cidaris (A. Adams, 1854). Looking in some more
>recent books I find it listed as C. cidaris (Carpenter, 1864). I
>did a google search and found the above as well as C. cidaris (A.
>Adams, 1864). I also found Lischkeia cidaris (Carpenter, 1864).
