Has anyone noticed or read about Philomycus carolinianus burrowing into
anything other than a rotting log or tree or remnants of a log or tree?
I would like to know if it has been noticed burrowing into soil of any
kind. Observations of other Philomycids will do as well.

Thanks,
Jody Thompson
