Subject: Still preparing my study on annulus-moneta
To: [log in to unmask]

I got off to a bad start on this forum and some others it appears. I have
put my request probabely the complete wrong way, as I seem not to get any
reaction from you guys.

So allow me to start from scratch.

So, I am conducting a study on Money Cowries. I have honest intentions
with all this. I am not out just to get gift from everybody. The main
importance is to receive information and picture material that I am
allowed to use in my book.(Should be finished in 2 years or so)

I have found out that in the Upper West Region of the Republic of Ghana
the Dagaaba people are still using these shells in different areas
together with the country currency. I had contact already with the prof.
that has made a study on them. I am allowed to use his texts.
I would be very happy to be able to receive information (Text and Photo's)
about this subject, if you would have any.

The book will show the variety of shapes and colors and an overview with
the use of maps of the habitats. This will be just a general information.
I have no intention to kick in open doors of scientist such as Felix
Lorenz or Guido Poppe or from experienced collectors such as Susumu Mano,
Thiery Dandrimont, Philipe Vandenberghe, Bob Abela, Steven Norby, and more
people who are all supporting me in my efforts.(and many more)

This is what I am looking for:(always annulus-moneta and also obvelata)
Cowries in artifacts-ancient and contemporary(Text and Photo's)
Cowries as an exchange/money(Text and Photo's)
Cowries in ceremony (Text and Photo's)
The Dagaaba people(Text and Photo's)
Photo's and data or info on the shells(rare-rostrate-niger-freak-giants-
midgets, special)

People who have spare shells available: I have a small trading list I can
send. I also have great series of land snails to trade of Cepaea hortensis
and nemoralis.I have a lot of the phenotypes in many colors.Let me know
if those are your babies.

I also started to build a small website, but it still needs a lot of work.
I will let you know when there is at least something done.
Hope to get a more possitive raction this time.

Kind regards to all. And I could understand your reactions.

Willy
