Aloha Conchers,
I have a huge collection of Hawaiian landsnails. Most genus & species now
extinct from the islands from the intro of goats(on Ni'ihau), rats, predator
snails(Euglantina rosea), man, & now a snail disease most likely carried by
birds. Some of my collection has snails from Pilsbry & other noticeable
pioneers with copies of permission slips to collect on TH(Territory of
Hawaii) land. Back then phone numbers were only 5 digits long.

Some of the material has dried mud residue & chalky powder(from Byne's?). Is
there a acceptable way of re-cleaning or preserving these rarities without
harming the snails? Im too scared to try anything until I consult with
someone much more knowledgable in this field. Suggestions? Mahalo! CHRIS:)

(Douglas Shelton has done alot arranging the COA in Mobile! Hope to see
everyone there!)
