Dick,

Last year, I went to Majuro and didn't see any S. thersites while snorkeling or diving. Not that I went to all possible areas....I notice that femorale.com doesn't list the species in the bunch they got from Majuro.

I know that the lagoon side is considered fairly contaminated from human activity near the downtown area.

It's interesting how the common shells in a given area sometimes change noticeably. On the other hand, I was struck by how some of the shells I'd collected in 1965 in Rincon, Puerto Rico, were there in 1995 (e.g., very dark brown Oliva reticularis (?), and red and green Fissurella fascicularis)--30 years later.
