Silvard Kool (1993) studied the anatomy of Haustrum, which he recognized as
a valid genus, and found that it was not closely related to Purpura. He
placed Haustrum in Ocenebrinae and Purpura in Rapaninae (and he synonymized
Thaidinae with Rapaninae.)
