Dear conch'lers
thanks to the many replaying to my question .
We think it's speaking about Anodonta woodiana , here it lives mixed with
cygnea but it's wiping out the latter .
In my message I was speaking of the "Padania plate" , don't knowing how to
translate in english wat in italian sounds "pianura padana" . It's a
geografical indication and not a political one as the Emilia-Romagna county
. Anyway it is the large plate region of north Italy and A. woodiana is
spreading here since , it seems , about 10 years ago .
Thanks to the many that asked for specimens or for trading shells , I will
replay them privately next days .
You have been so keen that I would like to make some more questions .
In the old book "Conchs tibias and harps" by Jerry Walls
there is a photo of a live taken Strombus kleckhamae
(not boholensis) given as "Chapman photo" .
Does anyone of you know this person and have an address
of him or of mr. Walls ?
And does anybody have a similar shell ? (not the usual dead "subfossil"
from Rabaul , PNG )
Virgilio

.
strombus and cardium collector , I would like to excange
shells , and papers about them . Virgilio Liverani
