Problems are caused buy software not by scanners (inexpensive or
expensive)
recommend Omni-Page of Corel up-grade
Brand most used Umax ... HP was 50/50
Recommended;
If printer port is needed add a switch box ($20)
32 or 36 bit true color
256 colors are possible, but higher resolutions is better
Buy the best you can afford to do the job needed
 
I have yet to tell Mrs. Kringle what I would like, but with all the
information received, I have a better understanding what path to take.

Everyone gets carried away once in while, but how anyone can complain
and sigh off from so many good people is beyond me... apparently no
great loss.
