Dear Art,
I've read that the yellow form of the snail is due to insufficient diet.
I can't confirm this, as I am no expert.It's just something I read.
I'll see if I can find the source.
I have also seen a specimen with repaired injuries, where the part just
after the injury was yellow and slowly went back to green as the
animal healed.
