Dear All,
 
Over the past year, I have sent more than 250 parcels, to countries all
over the world, including those with a less than trustworthy reputation.
 
I am not aware I have lost a single one, neither have I insured any.
 
This is what I do to ensure their safe arrival:
 
1. Pack them as best as you can. Broken boxes have a higher disappearance rate
2. Never state the exact contents on the customs label
3. NEVER state any value on the customs label
4. VERY IMPORTANT: NEVER USE STAMPS, but use a boring pre-printed label
from the post office
5. Use a courier for countries you really don't trust
 
Parcels quite often go by surface mail even if you've paid for air mail
(and the other way around). Sometimes they go to the wrong country, but
they usually turn up somewhere in the end. It's not much point arguing with
the post office. Just exercise a little patience.
